Hello, my name is Candice Bresler.
I am a vanilla-obsessed eater, baker and cook. I live in a beautiful little corner of Cape Town with my fantastic husband and a balcony filled with home grown vegetables and herbs. I try to lead a gorgeous life.
I love food. Sometimes it's that simple, and that complicated. My obsession with all things culinary has led to a few TV appearances (here, here and here) and an appearance on Season 1 (as a Top 50 contestant) and Season 2 (as a guest judge) of Masterchef South Africa - and ultimately, led me here.
'Here' is the culmination of four years of blogging : A Gorgeous Life is rooted in food, but also delves into health, fitness and lifestyle - with some great wine and events along the way. I strive for balance and health, but sometimes get distracted by a good looking chocolate eclair, when I should be heading out the door for a jog.
I am grateful for every opportunity that comes my way due to my blog. However, as my blog is a very personal representation of me, I have put a few guidelines in place:
Restaurant reviews:
I will happily visit / review your restaurant ideally in the greater Cape Town area and surrounds. I am available weekday evenings and weekends, and will bring my husband with me. Please note a review on my blog will only be guaranteed if the meal and experience is exceptional – I do not publish negative reviews. This blog is my happy space, and I only share things I love. If I do share the review on my blog, I will disclose that I was invited to enjoy the meal as a guest, and did not pay for it. Click here to view some of the reviews I have published.
Accommodation reviews:
We will happily visit / review your hotel / guesthouse. We are available on weekends. Please note a review on blog will only be guaranteed if the experience is exceptional. If we do share the review on our blog, we will disclose that we were invited to enjoy our stay as guests. If the hotel / guesthouse is more than 90 minutes outside of Cape Town, travel arrangements will need to be made or compensated. You can view a past accommodation review here and here.
Events:
I am mostly interested in events that focus on food, lifestyle, health or food related products. I am unfortunately unable to attend events during working hours (Monday – Friday between 08h30 and 17h30). If I do attend, a blog post will be at my own discretion, depending on how interesting and informative I believe it will be for my readers.
